Dangote Group at the weekend fulfilled the pledge of N50 million promised the Super Falcons after their record ninth Africa Women Cup of Nations triumph in Ghana in November. The presentation of the cheque was done during the celebration of all the sponsors of the Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday in Lagos. Apart from Dangote, BUA Group also presented the cheque of N25 million to the federation in fulfilment of their own promises to the team.
Business mogul, Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad had promised to give Super Falcons N50m and N25M respectively following their ninth African Women Nations Cup triumph in Ghana. Super Falcons of Nigeria are one of the three African teams that will participate in 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. Other qualified African countries are Cameroon and South Africa. They defeated the Bayana Bayana of South Africa 4-3 on penalty in the final and they are grouped alongside the hosts, France, Norway and South Korea in Group A.
